Product....Leave In Conditioner

Well ladies I swear by leave in conditioner. I don't care what type of styling product I'm putting in my hair....this is always the first step of my beauty regimine. I've always tried finding a good moisturizer and for my 2 and a half years of being natural there's been one product that has stayed with me....my modified Motown Girls Leave In Conditioner! Thats right you make it yourself and I'm telling you...you'll love it!!!!

2 ounces of Tresemme Flawless Curls Conditioner
1 ounce of water
1/8 cup of olive oil

Enjoy ladies! Especially with summer coming up....your hair will thank you! Apply it to soaking wet curls and then add styling gel for extra hold and definition!

SO Natural and Fly!

Product Spotlight: Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel

I have always tried to find a gel that would hold my curls without being crunchy or making it frizzy....This is my favorite styling gel! I swear by it! I love it! I have a head full of thin 3c/4a hair and this is the only styling gel that doesn't break up the curls and leave them all wavy. Its really cheap and when used with a good leave in (next product spotlight) it works wonders! Give it a try. I got this size gel for $2.99 at Sally's! Here's me with a wash and go with the gel!

Chrisette Michele

So one of my favorite artists has finally shed herself of relaxers and weaves and I'm oh so happy to see her return to natural hair! She's so gorgeous and rocking the fade she's so beautiful to me! I think she's amazing...and I think that she's even more amazing to be able to stand up and say f you if you can't see that I'm freeing myself for your standards of beauty.

I've been reading all sorts of blogs and its so nice to see that we as natural girls have been so kind and encouraging to her! I love it! Check out her interview with CurlyNikki or Afrobella...and her amazing poem!

Bleaching for Beauty

So, I'm watching the Tyra show and this episode is called "Bleaching for Beauty". I'm sitting here listening to these ignorant women talk about their insecurities and how they believe that lighter women have a lighter load in life. I'm so tired of us always having an excuse to why we have to change everything about ourselves. These women are willing to put a chemical that can cause physical damage, disfiguration, cancer, and so many other things rather than just looking in the mirror and realizing what God has blessed them with. And as I sat here getting upset with their coonery mentality and becoming more and more upset with the scapegoat being "society has brainwashed us"....URG!
No we have brainwashed ourselves...we have to tell ourselves to "Bleach for Beauty" "Relax for Beauty" "Beijing for Beauty". Its time for us to take responsibility. Being a milk chocolate girl myself I've always thought that I was blessed to have the skin tone that doesn't generally crack as the years go on! I always felt blessed that I could sit out in the sun and only get a couple of shades darker. I've always been approached by black men of all shades and I often noticed that out of my friends who were all Tyra's complexion or lighter I'm always the one that gets compliments or the affection from men of different ethnicities also. I think that these women equated class to a skin tone, but they will still be the ignorant, tatted up black women that they were regardless of skin tone. MPO (my personal opinion)!

What do ya'll think? Are dark women not beautiful? Shouldn't we all be bleaching our children to guarantee a lighter load in life?
